ya thats the book that i found already ordered it from Amazon and also a book on flathead horsepower (maybe build the blue one with a little more power) Techinspector what is your opinion on rear mount radiators with a flathead? i have a 12 volt converted generator that should be about 45amp not sure if that is big enough to run a electric fan big enough to cool in south Texas heat

i dont want the radiator to sit above the cowl. i was worried about the hose being ran under the axle would look bad. i guess if i fab or bend tubing and take my time it should look ok
If you're going to route the lower radiator hose under the axle, I suggest you carry a few spares and plenty of water/antifreeze.Quote:

ok got the motor mounts in. Now for the radiator. can a radiator be shortened?

Can you instal or have installed a lower hose neck that would point up at 90 degrees, then use a piece of either mandrel bent tubing or a flexible hose to go to the engine?????
A radiator shop should be able to make your radiator any length you want it.....at a price!
it would have to be a really shap 90. i would assume that would restrict flow. i will try to use a 90 but if i have to atleast i know now a radiator shop can reduce the height of the radiator.

If you're "Z"ing a hose. so to speak, use a length of rectangular tubing for the vertical bit. Round the ends off to match the round tubes, or even use 1" X 2" rect. for 1 1/2" round and have a nice round end on the rect. that's bigger than the round stuff, so the hoses aren't sticking out past the "Z" bit. Not much more work, but a whole lot better looking!
By the way, you do know that the fan mount is inverted in your pics?
ya i just stuck the fan on for looks. I'm surprised your the first one to pick up on that. as for the 1x2 tubing are you saying to round the end of the rectangle tubing? if so HOW?
another small problem i am having is gas/brake pedal clearance there is not much room between frame and transmission. any ideas?
