34 ford 3W body mounts
Need info on making my own body mount bushings. This time I want to do it right. When I mounted the body the first time I just used carpet strips between the body and frame. When I took the body off for my re-do awhile back I realized the mistake I made in using the carpet (some rust between body and frame). Luckily the coupe wasn't run in the rain too much. Most of the 10 or so years as a daily driver were in sunny Cal. My options so far for bushing material are rubber and nylon. The rubber I have is .250 and .300 thick. The nylon I have I can make anywhere from .300 to .125 thick. What is the normal thickness for these bushings? What is best for the material; rubber, nylon or something different. Thanks for the help.
Jack.
The first model car I built was a 32 Ford roadster by Revell in the mid 50's.
