Amsoil......the write ups sound to good to be true, and you know what that USUALLY means, soooooo anyone USE/D it ?

I have neverhave heard of it but if it's like Prolong Danger will Robinson. Normally if it sounds to good to be true, it is. Kind of like Liquid oxygen in a street car.

:HMMM: No its not an additive, it's a fairly new (at least to me) synthetic oil, if you want to read up on it, try the link I posted.

Been around for years, MLM distribution, generally highly over rated, performance based on testimonials. Nothing particularly wrong with it, just not "miracle in a can".

Amsoil is just a synthetic oil, no miracle cure for anything. I have used it, but I guess I will stick with Mobil 1 synthetic. I'm not a chemist, so I can't tell you which is better, just that I have had good luck with Mobil 1 and can get a decent price on it.

It's just a perk for working at the dealership. All of our cars from '96-on use Mobil 1, so we buy it in bulk and dispense it from reels.

we have used Amsoil products for years in our race cars. I became a believer in their product around 1977. I had an old bronco that had to be bump started. (to lazy to fix starter and had a hill for a driveway. lol). starting it was never a problem till cold new england winter came. anytime temp got to 10-15 below, the car wouldn't roll. then changed to amsoil synthetic gear lube in both axles, and used their grease in all u-joints. could not believe how easily the car rolled. I was a believer from then on. using it in the racer showed lower temps in rear gear, even when we moved to the dessert and raced.
to be fair, I also used mobil 1 for a while when I picked up a sponser.

Buddy of mine swears by it in his dirt midget, but then again he gets it for free for running their decals, I put Mobil 1 in an old ford truck I once had and couldn't believe all the leaks that developed ????
Thirty years of circle tracking and never had an oil related failure using good old Valvoline Racing 20w50.

The leaks were there to start with. The synthetic just flows easier. However, in my vehicles, if there staying a while, Valvoline or mobile 1. If their beaters, Advanced auto.

Try, Wal*Mart Supertech, It's the worst oil ever, I wont put in my lawn mowers let alone somthing I need for transportation. I'm probobly going to put Royal Purple in my Benz when i get it finished. My mom put Supertech in her car once and changed it 5,000 miles later and it was like water, it was not lubing anything much. The car started to have a valve tap shortly after and then the engine started making a grinding sound. The car was a 95' Ford Escort.
