I put a set of 1 5/8 Hooker super competition block huggers on my '35 Master back in the mid 90's. I've had no problems with them. Thick flanges and priced under $200. If you run across some 1 5/8 or 1 3/4 longtubes to fit our old chevys let me know.Last edited by 35chevy; 08-06-2009 at 07:28 PM.

Or, if you build weird stuff like I do, your header's come looking like this...some assembly required!!!!! Would you believe nobody makes fenderwell headers for an '82 Camaro??????
Maybe the engine setback killed the application??????Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Started doing the cutouts in the fenderwells last night, not too bad. Should be a fairly easy build as far as stepped fenderwell headers go!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

hey i be rigth over to give to a handstep tubes are EZ you can over lap no butt up to tig so the fit up is not half the time you would do on a std set ,i would like to do mine 2 1/2 or 2 3/8 then step them down going to flow the big chief head with a test pipe on it try the 2 1/2 and see what numbers looks like on the flow bench

I'll do these with 1 3/4" to 1 7/8" with the 3 1/2" collectors like you suggested.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

If you end up with Sanderson's, I suggest that you buy them uncoated so you can clean up the stuck on MIG wire tag ends and tube overlaps inside plus smooth out the head to flange fit up. Mine took several hours with a die grinder and some various length burs before I was satisfied - then off to Jet-Hot for their near chrome appearing coating.Dave W
