1945 International Harvester Truck
A friend of a friend is selling a truck that's kinda interesting. I talked to the guy just now and he gave me the whole history. he's third owner.
originally purchased during WWII by a store owner in lemon cove, ca, had to get special permission from the war department. it was a military truck, arrived at dealer with no bed, special 3/4 ton rear end, single tire. they had the flatbed made for it. it is in great shape apparently (I wish I could post pics, but they sent them to me in PDF, I can't figure out how to get them out to jpg).
almost all original, missing one hubcap, one trim ring, has turn signals added by 2nd owner, as well as a toilet paper roll oil filter???? has been converted to 12 volt.
He's asking 2500 bucks. just needs a battery he says.
Here's the thing, I love the history of it, it seems like a cool collectible, but I'm into hotrods and if I'm going to get in on a 2nd project it'll be that 28-29 ford 2dr sedan in my friends field.
I just thought I'd tell you all about it. If anybody wants to see the pics or is interested let me know. I have no stake in it, just a cool truck.
I did not know Mike very well, we exchanged some messages from time to time but from what I understand he was a very good man. I was sad to learn about this
