Actually Im trying to get this plug out of the manifold of my 350 and find that its been locked tight and wont budge with my puny efforts to get it off...

My question is, since its a brass plug, should I try an impact wrench or just get a bigger cheater bar??? Ive tried some pb blaster to get rid of that lock-tite, but...

The first picture is the offending plug, the second is the old temp sending sensor and the third is the location of this sensor (Im putting the new sensor for the new gauge up in the problem plug location)!

I would not use a impact wrench my self. but find a 6 point socket 1/2 inch drive and work it out. my two cents

I would heat the manifold around the bottom of the plug with a small propane torch and then try and loosen it. Just make darn sure you have no gas fumes around.

Sometimes you can heat the manifold as suggested and smush a candle around the threads. The tallow will run into the threads and allow a little lubricant into the recesses and make it easier to turn out with a socket and long bar. Also, sometimes, giving it a slight turn tighter will break it loose.

500 degrees releases Loctite. Well, unless it's the non-dissassembly kind......

I have always had good luck with a cheater bar on a 6 point socket...

If they are tight like that I usually use an impact and 6 point and never had a problem.

Just apply the fulcrum principle!!!!
