Cross steering, traditional steering. Pros and cons of each. Are they both okay, or is one better than the other? I'm building a T-bucket, and I'd like to know which one I should use.
Thanks

A friend of mine converted his cross steer Vega steering box T bucket into a Uni-steer rack system... Drives and steers very nice and the rack is small and tucks out of the way quite nicely... My vote would be for Cross Steer with the rack!
One of the only useful items the Vegas gave us was a fairly decent steering box for a traditional solid axle car--so my vote cancels Daves!!!!!!!
Cross steer gets my vote, no matter the box involved. I was unfamiliar with the Uni-steer piece, so went online to see. It's a rack & pinion unit that mounts to the frame on the driver's side just as any other worm & sector steering box would. It uses only one tie rod and actually looks pretty reet on an open car. Six of one and half a dozen of the other, worm & sector or rack & pinion. Your choice, but definitely cross steer.
