Ford 9" rear
I'm thinking of someday swapping out my 10 bolt GM rear for a ford 9". I will be using 300-308 gears. What gear ratio range rear do I look for to be able to use those gears If I don't find one with those gears?
Jack.

If you get a 9", you can have any ratio you want. DTS will build you any width, gear and brakes you want, among others. Just do a search for Ford 9", the web is your friend....60 Vette 350 5speed not much stock.

The most common ratio for the 9" is 3.00/1 in passenger car applications.

3.10 was a pretty common stock gear for thoseI remember when hot rods were all home made.

Thanks guys,
I am not a ford rear guy but I was under the impression that the carriers were different for different gear ratio ranges. Maybe not, please inform.

Speedway has tons of stuff for the 9"
9 Inch Ford Pro Ring & Pinion Gears
They go from 3.5 up to 6.5 gear ratio for around $150
I just put rear disc brakes on my 8 inch for less then 1/2 what you would pay for some of the kits out there. They would also work on 9 inch with the small bearing - just ask if you want more info.
Ditto on the model kits! My best were lost when the Hobby Shop burned under suspicious circumstances....
How did you get hooked on cars?
