Holley billet distributor wires.....?

Im confused (again..):o The engine Im using in my T is a 350 out of a 75 full size blazer. It had an HEI distributor but was too big after I put on the tunnel ram intake. I bought a used Holley billet electronic dist. and a new Accell high output coil. My problem is how to wire it all up? The distributor has two wires (a black and a red) coming out of it. Where to they go? Im just trying to get this thing fired up for the first time and just want to wire the starter, ignition, and switch so I can get it running. Thanks for any advice!......:)

Try here first. Get the part numbers of the dist and do a search . It should pop up a link for instruction manuals. Might not be all you need but it could get you started.

Thanks BTD.....Already tried that site and couldnt find info. The part number I used was 809 200 011 02 but nothing came up.....

Do they still make that dist.? I cant find it anywhere. I would think go tho MSD and type in elect. dist to Accel in the search tab. the color coded main wires SHOULD be the same. Not positive they are but they should be color coded the same. They have nice diagrams on PDF file. You can cross reference with your Accel instructions.

Black should be ground and red should be postive (switched 12v I believe). Your Accel coil should Also tied into your electrical system and you can use your intructions on the coil to do the rest.

the accel did make a box at one time do you need one to run your dist the or is it the old BEI dist with a gm module with a chrysler cap ? .i have some of the paper work on accel coils ? if thats needed. if you still have not found any thing i will look in my stuff and get it on here sunday.one of the wires or both may need to go to the coil and 12 volts would go to to one post of the coil + side i think? the wire s coming out of mine i think is white and black and needs a box to run it not sure it been some time but you need the coil wired in to the mix it may be one leg of the wires and ground the coil and 12 in on the red side wire ? just not sure i see if i can find some info for you if you still need it

Thanks for the input guys.....I spoke with a drag racing buddy of mine who is a small block chevy guy. He said the red wire goes to the + side of the coil and the black wire goes to the - side.....sounds too simple but he says my dist. dosent need a trigger box just the coil.....I have to fly into Fla this week to pick up a car (just a new daily driver) so I wont get to work on the T much till next week. I'll keep you posted on the results.....
