Congrats on the sales, sounds like job security to me!!!! What's the styling for the new one gonna be?
Dave,
Gonna do it the same as the dark grey roadster, cept with an ox blood interior.
The guy who bought that 1 wanted me to change out the wheels for steelies, also
want block huggers. So I will use the originals on the coupe.
BTW --
The light grey roadster was damaged in the storm, and the new owner (who lives in Washington State) told Haggerty he wants me to fix it as I was the builder.
Now thats what ya call job security.
Nothing wrong with that! How bad was the roadster damaged?
Congrats on the sales and repair job. :-)
I have been surprised that custom car sales seem to be active, despite the economy. A couple of my regular customers deal high end rods, and are continuing to buy and sell pretty regularly.
My custom business is up to normal this year, and the restoration projects are still there for a backup, if it slows down. Lets hope that is a good sign for the rest of the economy!
Kind of wondering about this whole economic thing.... Man, just brought two more cars into the shop today, both early 90's Mustangs, one's a do it quick for a driver, the other is a wicked little thing, wants black paint and suspension mods.... Soon as the quickie paint is done, same kid's dad wants to bring his 'maro in for an all over.... Things looking up, or just the usual spring is coming deal????????
That's not too bad, I guess...compared with some in the storm that were dang near totalled!!!!
Update on the new build
Hey Don that sure did change the the look on that dark grey roadster. I dont know if I like the new look or not, but then again I did not buy it. You know i called you Friday I believe it was about mounting the grille shell with these pic. it all makes sense now. (For the lack of not knowing the correct name of the part) Does the hood supports bolt to the uppergrille shell mount? Thanks for your help again . The Three window sounds like its going to be SWEET. Dennie
Dennie, First I mount the rad, then the shell to the rad, then I fab my supports to the upper rad tab and to the firewall.
Don't like usin the original style V mounts, as they let the rad twist.
The way I do it everything is rock solid.
Never had an issue doin it this way for over 30 years.
1 more fer ya
wow very cool! and low..especially based on the last picture. is the grill a one off?
