You don't mention what engine & transmission you have in the truck, but from AutoZone.com it appears that you likely have a one piece (full circle) rear main seal which means you have to drop the transmission and remove the flexplate (automatic) or flywheel (manual tranny) for access. Then it is a matter of pulling the old seal - you can punch a small hole in the flat, thread in a sheet metal screw and then lever it out with diagonals; or carefully get a flat screwdriver under the lip of the flat and pry it out without marring the sealing surface. Once out clean the recess, set the new seal in place right side out and carefully tap it into place - I use a wood block to spread the load and tap easy, but you can also get a seal installation tool from your auto parts store (likely a loaner) that is a flat disk on a driving shaft. Reinstall all parts removed in reverse order.
