does anyone know how to convert from ball bearing type wheel brgs on a
49-54 chevy spindle? i found a kit to do it for$185.00 which seems high
for 4brgs ,4races, & 2seals. all the old time parts men hereabouts are deceased & no one can remember how it used to be done. the ball brg type
brgs use a spacer/adapter on both sides of the hub. any help appreciated.
You may want to try a bearing supplier and see if he can short cut the supply chain. You have to be able to replace them if they go bad and with the numbers off them I bet he can supply them.
well 30 years ago i walk in the parts store and did get tapper bearings you could just find the id and od and cross it over should not be to hard .there were no spacers or adapetrs. that front end was used on the vettes till the early 60s try them bearings
