    Ford alt. woring question.

     



    How do I wire a Ford sg3 alternator, thanks. It seems like I read where you can wire it real simple like a one wire.
    Oops, sorry for the typo, can't edit the title I guess. wiring, not woring.

    I know what you want to do, but, have switched to a one wire on my rebuild, because it was what was called for by the American Autowire wiring harness I got. I can't seem to recall whether you need a relay with a three wire alternator and an external voltage regulator, but that seems correct to me( a novice at the best of times!)

    It has the regulator right on the back, that is where the 3 prong plug goes.
    I think I have it figured out now, got some help on a different forum.
