Hiboy Headlight Conduits

I bought a set of Mr Roadster headlight conduits from Speedway, and they are being posted back today. The male/male connection at the headlight end was going to be cumbersome, the ID is only about 1/4" to 5/16", and the machined end pieces simply slip over the stainless braid. The slip joint is not a big deal, but added to my discontent with the product so I'll spend $10 to return a $35 pair of conduits. I did find a set of male/female conduits at Bob Drakes called Wire Worms. I have a message in to them to see what the ID is on theirs to be sure it will pass five or six wires. Bob is very proud of his parts - $60 for the pair. So far I have not found a 1/2" male/female conduit anywhere else. Pictures of both Mr Roadster (left) & Wire Worms (right) are attached below. Is anyone aware of another alternative that gives a clean joint at the hollow headlight mounting bolt, capable of five to six conductors?

Thanks for the link - they indeed have some great parts, and I like their black conduits. However, they are Male/Male, not designed to interface with a hollow headlight mounting bolt.

Got a note from Bill saying that his conduits are not meant to be connected to a hollow mounting bolt, and that he had made a really sweet female SS end for his conduits, but they were going to be too pricey so he abandoned it. Drakes may sell me a set of their conduits soon unless I find an alternative. So far they are the only ones that address the connection to a hollow headlight bolt.

I didn't use the hollow bolt. Bought several flex conduits- hated them all.
So- made my own. ;)

Used the end fittings. Had to cut the male thread shorter where nut fastens. They have an o-ring inside of them. Perfect for a piece of 3/8 polished stainless. They slip in & out of o-ring to adjust the headlights. Why 5-6 wires? Buckets are grounded, one high, one low, one turn, one running light. I run 4 wires.

You could do the same thing w/ the hollow bolt. Get a stainless acorn nut that will thread over the hollow bolt end. Chuck it up & drill a 25/64 hole dead center of acorn & polish. Then bend up stainless for wiring.

Steve, I had thought about the bucket being grounded, but I was counting wires in the harness. The H4 headlight plug has three - hi, lo and dedicated ground; then turn and park makes five. I guess I could put a ground stud in the bucket to save a wire. I like your acorn nut approach, and I had not considered solid tubing. Thanks for the input.

My plug has 3 also- I just ran the ground to inside bucket. Most of the conduits I've seen come with 4 wires.
