When it comes to the cylinder overflow tanks that mount to the radiator is it just a matter of getting the biggest one that will fit? I think I have 19" to play with which would fit a 17" long tank. This is for an LT1 350 with a Walker radiator

Yep, functionally they are all the same. The longer ones just have more capacity which only lets them take more expansion from the radiator before they lose any out the bottom tube.
I have a very short one on my 27 because the radiator is chopped so much, and it worked fine.
Don
Or you can just use anything lying around the garage that holds water......;)
Thanks Don and Bob...I figured I would just get the biggest one I could fit and I think that would be 17" long. Bob - I think the next car will be a little bit lower budget and I have the perfect canteen just like that one in the picture that I can use :3dSMILE: Does the 'next car' always start when you're looking at the leftover parts and think what kind of car they could build? I have a '35 front end, 283 w/ 3 duces and corvette valve covers, a 55ish chevy 10 bolt, and a cool 60's jag seat. I think it all would make a great A roadster or 5 window. :toocool:
I have a 15" on my '31 with a '32 radiator/grille and it seems to just the right fit without being obtrusive:

Just remember to plumb it right :o:o with the high internal tube as the ground dump. When I moved mine from the left to the right side - gulp - I had it backwards:HMMM:
Yup. A couple years back I had some odd pieces in the loft that I tossed on the floor to see what would happen.;) (first pic). Then some leftover spring brackets got hacked up into motor mounts (second pic). Then some other pieces HAD to be bought to fill in the blanks, and we're on our way!!!
Yea I just need a frame and body and I'm just about there! o and a tranny too...I can't see using a 3 speed stick these days..
Will a 16lb. radiator cap work fine? stock is an 18lb. but Walker says 15-18 is fine..
16 should be fine if the rest of the system is good.
