TimZ: To answer your question, the Cleaveland heads will phisically bolt to the block, but you'de have to buy a Yates intake manifold to fit it. Then you'll have valve to piston clearance problems. Yates does sell the set-up for what you are trying to do with a manual and everything. The block would have to be tapped for bigger head bolts, or you could have some special bolt made up with sleeve on them, to fit the heads so that they wouldn't slide around on the block, then your going to need special intake and head gaskets, what your basically trying to built is called a Mexican style 302 Boss. And when I did mine I believe I had to put 289 rods in it. Can't really remember the specifics its been 20 yrs. ago. But if you get in touch with Yates racing they have all the stuff you need and info. Hope this helps you out some. And by the way the modified heads are all 2-barrell version headsfor the Clevelands, which means they have the 205 intake valve and the 1.65 exhaust valve, and was an open chambered head. The Boss head came with a 2.195 intake and a 1.71 exhaust valve, and were closed chamber heads. The 2-barrell heads were 9:1 and the 4-barrell heads were 10.7:1. Theres a lot of little things you need to know about putting the Cleveland heads on a 302. Such as rockers, rods, and guide plates, Brodix had some alluminum heads that were set up for NASCAR racing, has a better flow, guide plates and everything else I don't remember the price though.
