Choke light and kill switch?

I installed a new carb and choke. While I had it apart I installed a kill switch on the batt wire on the HEI. This is in a 84 silverado. After the kill switch was installed it seemed to work fine but soon the choke light came on . I replaced fuse and checked the choke wire and it has 13.5 volts and the terminal plug. I also checked the ohms on the choke thermostat and it read 2.5 ohms which should be good unless it gets up past 20. Now I cannot figure out why the choke light wont turn off? I also installed a new Alternator yesterday but the light is still on. On the kill switch I installed exactly 24 feet of 12Ga. wire could this be the cause maybe to much resistance in the battery terminal. How could I check this with out cutting the wires and shortening since everything has been soldered.? Thanks

I would look at the oil pressure switch as thats where my wiring diagram shows the choke power wire comming from. It says light blue wire from choke stat to oil pressure switch.
Also a bad alternator can turn the choke light on.
