power steering (remote reservior) ?????
I have a 84 (tbi) engine with the factory power steering with (remote reservior)
what i wanna know is.....
_Can I buy a new reservior and place it some where different? (like near the radiator)?
_Does it got to be above the power steering pump
_Will a aftermarket reservior work? What about the ones with the outlets on the side. My outlets are on the bottom (side by side)
My cap has a pin hole on the cap. Is that a vent?
My system works good, THE damn reservior is blocking my nicely painted engine.
can you move the reservior?Last edited by 40 chevy shawty; 01-06-2011 at 12:17 PM.

Any reservoir that has the right connections will work. Yes, it should be above the pump.

You may want to check out the places that carry circle track car parts. We always used remote res. pumps and the make some nice looking ones, just plain alum. or anodized. Unless you want the billet type. I also think OTB has a finned remote res.

Yes Remote res. is available, yes above the pump, that might be a vent , but the after market ones we use on our late model dirt cars are not vented, the smaller pump and remote res. looks so much better...the only way to go. we ussually put the res on the firewall beside the clutch and brake res. it looks good when they are all lined up
