I'm looking at this bender and also one that looks alot nicer and comes with a foot operated ram but costs about $900

anyone know anything about the style of the one in the link?:confused:

Kind of depends on how much you are going to use one. If it's just for your own projects, the cheap Jap job might work. I'm old and gettin lazy, guess I would go with the hydraulics and plunk down the extra bucks.

I used one the whole time I lived and raced out west. It worked great. the only thing to remember is to spray the pipe with wd-40 while bending so it'll slip through the die easier.

i have one just like that , i got mine from trick tools . it was 600.00 ,came with 1 set of mandrells and is not power . but they are so smooth to use you do not need power .i bent some 15/8 last night .
each extra set of mandrells are 200.00

That thing works like a champ, and the E-bay price is right $265 , I built mine after borrowing one from a buddy and taking it apart and copying it,we've used it to build a couple UMP modifieds,3 midgets out of chrome molly,6 quarter midgets(chrome molly), 1 go cart, and 1 Jr. dragster (chrome molly) and it's performed flawlessly.....

My main use for one will just be for myself i have a few more "gussets" and braces i want to add to my cage then i have a cage to do for my sister/bro in law's 67 stang. so i am not planning on doing a ton of work with it just a car here and there type work.

yeah the price seems right so thats why i was wondering about it $250 is alot better than the next step up at $900.

Well i'm gonna be ordering a bender this weekend but i came across another one that "looks" to me like a little better design for a couple hundred bucks more,its hydraulic and has a following roller on the bottom.

i think it might be worth it to get this one for a little extra cash,whad'a you guys think?

Hey Goat, Iv'e messed with the speedway bender also, It works fine, The up side is the hydraulics so ya ain't gotta work so hard and you don't hafta bolt it down to any thing,the dies are about the same price, the other one has a follower ya just can't see it in the picture, Either one will work fine for ya, my only concern about the speedway unit is the square tube frame,no problem bending D.O.M. tubing,but when we bend chrome molloy with the first style one we hafta have a 5 ft lever on it,nother thing about the first one is looks like their gonna include the degree wheel with it, not a necessity but it'd be a nice option and you could put your own hydraulics on it cuzz it ain't nothin but a porta power...

thanks HWORREL i appreciate the info i'm still kinckin around which one i'm gonna buy and i do like the idea of not havin to work so hard with the hydraulic one. I emailed the company about the first one asking if i could mount a ram on it but that was 3 days ago and they never replied back so thanks for anwsering that for me. Hard to decide on NEW TOYS;)
