hey everbody is there anything to clean up my car glass and no not windex the car is a 1963 it like the windows just won't come clean:confused: and they feel a little ruff dont know why but feels like a very old paint job that havent been waxed in a long time but it not paint thats the only way i can explain it and when looking out the windows they look dull.they been like this since i got the car thanks
First I would try Bon Ami.

If that doesn't work you can try wetting it down with glass cleaner and scrubbing it with some extra fine #0000 steel wool.
And if all else fails, wet it down with glass cleaner and use a NEW single edge razor blade.
Usually the Bon Ami works, but it takes quite a bit of elbow grease.

You might want to try using a new razor blade on a scraper and making some passes over the glass. If you see residue coming up, you probably are seeing overspray of an old paint job maybe.
I have to agree with sunsetdart spry with soapy water or window cleaner and scrap with razor blade before getting to aggressive.
You are dealing with a car that is headed towards the Big 50 in age. While 'heroic methods' like Bon-Ami, razor blades and fine steel wool might help, the fact is that road grit, acid rain and just occasional cleaning of a dirty piece of glass may have taken their toll and etched the glass to the point that nothing will do more then a OK and temporary cleanup.A big claw hammer or large rock and a call to your insurance company will help (did I say that:eek: - that's insurance fraud!!:o). My long gone '97 pick up was like that - nothing helped permanently.
Maybe try a clay bar for detailing a car first. It's probably a safer alternative to other more aggressive options because there is little chance of scratching the glass. It is designed to strip all the particles and road dust for a smooth surface before applying wax to a paint job. If it is the glass itself this will obviously not help, but that's what I would try.
Eastwood, and some others sell some stuff and the wheel to buff the glass. It's quite a bit of work, but with patience you can get rid of scratches and small pits. I haven't tried it myself, but a guy I know did his 55 windshield before he put it back in. Looked great except for some slight fogging at the edges, no fix for that though.

you have to watch razor blades they can scratch glass using a lube with then helps abit glass cleaner /soap i rework the razor blades hone them abit with wet paper like grit 600 and roll the ends of the blades with a stone (if you do this honing the blade last) to keep from digging in the glass we used liquid ebony and 000 steel wool the liquid ebony work good. if glass is very wore out the eastwood kit may help out . rubbing compound or bon ami may help never used it but used 3m red super compound on over spay on glass
DON'T use a scotchbrite pad.
