Heres a few pics of the new Heidts IRS and Fatman front suspension on my 50 Ply wagon . I just got the parts back from the powdercoater and finished up the remaining parts in satin black and aluminum. The powder is also satin black and aluminum. Yes, I know there are no coilovers, just struts in the front and rear. The chassis is set up to ride height and will put coilovers in when it is ready to take out for a spin.

what size rear tires/wheels you running?? I built a customers car with the Heidts rear and the lower forward link was pretty close to the tire
Going to be one kewl wagon! Really like the IRS, should be a really good handling car, too!
Jerry............Tires in the back are 275X60 on a 15x10 deep dish rim with 4 in spacing. The strut rods happend to be in alignment with the frame and welded brackets were put in and do not interfere with the tires or fenders at all.

I do wonder though how hard it would be to get the rotors off to turn them?

That is going to be a cool ride. I debated some time about using that IRS unit in my '32, but I didn't think it would hold up to the amount of torque my engine produced.
rum...actually Heidts makes an IRS for HP applications. They make one for high HP Camaros and others as well. The half shafts are bigger and so are the yokes.
Thanks, that's good to know. They didn't have that option back in 2000 when I was planning the build.
I really like the look of the black and silver combination, especially the satin aluminum look. It seems so much more practical for a driver, who wants to spend all their spare time polishing aluminum, not me!

Mike............my buddy that has a powedercoating business did my stuff. He got the aluminum look by using an "almost chrome "powder and then topcoating it with a satin clear......presto...an aluminum look. The 2 end pieces and the center section are done in powder(aluminum), the 3rd member carrier and the 2 braces under are done in black satin.
