Besides replaceing with new what can be done. I kind of remember some thing about polishing it?
I have a 84 c-10 and the glass on it gets dirty to quick. The dirt just seems to stick pretty quick.

You might try mineral spirits and some very fine 0000 steel wool for your applicator, followed by your normal window cleaner. I've also seen several people say to use BonAmi because it is a very soft abrasive - the directions say it is good for windows, but apparently they had a complaint from someone about a windshield, and they put a "...do not use on windshields..." disclaimer on the can (good for glass, not for windshields, go figure). I put a coat of RainX on after cleaning to make it slick.

Eastwood has a product that I used that worked well, took a lot of work to get it done, but...it worked!
Insurance compaies replace them under the comprehensive part of your policy
.....besides using a large claw hammer to put a "chip or two" in it for an insurance claim, the Bon-Ami works well. It is an abrasive and will leave some residue that washes off easily, but be careful with how much you scrub. I've done my truck, and it needs it again, as well as other cars when sap and air borne goo collect and all the wipers do is smear.
