TH400 or T5 ???????
hey guys I have been toying around with the thought of converting my monte from an auto to a 5speed.. current set up is 402bb B&M TH400 full manual revers pattern 3200 rpm stall eaton with 3.08 gear . I would like to go to a t5 and a 4.11 gear. what you guys think????

with a big block and a heavy car, I'd suggest something beefier then the T5....Even the "World Class" version breaks easy. A TKO might be a better choice for your application. Once you run with the overdrive 5 speed, you'll really learn to like the dual role a 5 speed will do...lots of good low gears to get things moving and a long winded 5th gear to help with the RPM and fuel mileage!!!!!!
Besides, with a 5 speed, you'll no longer be "shiftless"!!!!!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

We managed to get a couple of other small things taken care of. One was blacking out the front of the core support. When the sun hit the front of the car just right that green paint on the core...
