White walls

Is there a way to create your own? Is there a certain rubber material you can paint on or have put on that would create the white wall look on a newer tire?

I think it would be cool if tire companies would custom dye tires so, you could have tires that match your vehicle or, even just like colored wall tires.

Back in the day, we used to buy paint sticks to paint the letters on the tire sidewalls. It looked cool from a distance, and usually stayed on until the next car wash...

I've never used it on tires, but it might be interesting to try some of the dyes used to change the color of vinyl interiors... it comes in spray or brush on, and is supposed to last a long time (at least on interior surfaces)

Custom dyed tires??? Kewl Mat, I'd like a set that are tie dyed!!! And maybe some trick lettering that only shows up with a black light??? The possiblities are endless........

I've never done this myself, but I heard somewhere that any "thin white wall" tire, like the ones you see on the beat ford taurus station wagons and such, can be shaved to have wide white walls. Like
Like I said, I dunno if this is right or not, but aparently all with those tires the whole sidewall is white, and they just cover it with a thin layer of black rubber.

Anyone got an old thin white wall tire lying around? Try it and tell us if it works!
