Wheel / Tire advice
I would like to take my truck in another direction as far as wheels. I want to go with either 15 or 16 x8" 6 lug Corvette Rally wheels.
My truck is a 57 3100 with stock front suspension (want to upgrade to front disks at some point) and a 12 bolt out of a 64 c10 with leaf springs.
Anyone have pictures of a tri-five truck with this type of wheel?
Any advantage in going 16 over 15s?
Any advice/gotchas when going with this type of wheel?
Also, if any of you photoshop gurus can modify my truck so I can see what it would look like, that would be muy bueno!

You'll find a lot better tire selection with 16's or even 17's over 15's. The tire guys have severely cut back on their 15" offering. Also, disc brake caliper clearance will be lots better with the larger wheels. For my eye, if you're going to change then your truck would look great with 16's and tires with a bit more sidewall. Sorry, cannot help you with PhotoShopping the view.

IMHO.. the black truck is to low, wheels to tall and tires to short. Looks like a poser! Just my opinion...

The problem I always see when wheels are too big is that ..........when you look at the car/truck, first thing you see is the wheels.
Using 15,16,or 17's would be the biggest I'd ever go. You want the wheels to compliment the rest of the truck, not take away from it.

While I think the black truck looks good, there is a lot more involved in that look than slapping some new wheels and rubber on the truck. I agree with sunset that either 15s or 16s would compliment the truck a little more without centering the focus on wheels.
15s would be the cheapest option (not by much) but want to make sure there is clearance for disks and no scrubline issues should I lower the truck. I have never seen corvette ralleys in 16 up close. Has anyone? Any pics? Are they identical except for the size? I need them in 6 lug, 8" wide...

You really need to look close at the tires that you want to run as part of your decision process on wheel size. The selection of 15" tires is decreasing day by day, leaving us to get tires from specialty guys like Coker. Saving $20 on a wheel only to spend $50 more on the tire is one of those things that makes a guy unhappy, and it's only going to get worse. Sunsetdart is right on with the visual impact - wheels & tires should compliment, not be the focal point.

Diggin the advice folks, keep it comming, I appreciate everyone's pov. 16s would also prevent any scrub line issues too.

for what it's worth, I agree with Roger on this one. I'm a fan of 17's front, 18's rear on this truck. I think the front needs to be lowered a bit to give it some rake. jmho....
