Lake Pipes!
Well guys it's almost time for me to install exhaust on my chopped 49 Ford coupe. In order for me to receive my NC title (car was SC title so need inspection) I need to have the car fully running and functional then have an NC inspector come look up the VIN and make sure it's capable of driving safely with all lights working, running, driving and stopping. The three major things on my list for next week are the brake lines, fuel lines and tank, wiring and lights and exhaust.
My goal here is to get the car on the road ASAP to get it inspected then go back next month and have full exhaust ran to the rear of the car (I am installing flame throwers) :3dSMILE: For now I was thinking about running either the single outlet lake pipe or the triple outlet and have them functional. Any opinions or suggestions here for the pros and cons? The car is going to be my weekend driver that I take to cruise in's, band gigs, etc so not a daily driver like I initially planned for.
I have not made up my mind on single or triple outlet yet. I will most likely go with single since the car is a coupe and looks shorter than the sedan already and putting the triple setup may make the car look even shorter in the middle with the long rear section.
Thanks a lot for any help and suggestions!

BTW, I would like to put some kind of baffles before them if at all possible to quite them down just a hair because I know they will be LOUD by themselves.

Just thinking, the 3 outlets would look very cool, seems to me. A single outlet tends to look reeeeal long, and adding a couple of outlets breaks up that loooong horizontal with some bends & caps. Just my thoughts....

Thanks rspears! I didn't think about that so it's something to take into consideration for sure! There is still the slight possibility I just go with duals out back with smitty glass packs and do the functional lake pipes in a few months but I do not know. It's all up in the air right now and has been for 2 months now. It's just coming down to the wire where I need to make a decision. Either way if I do them now or later, they will be functional. Would be cool to do cut outs later down the road as well.

I'm with Roger - however, however; the 3" chrome lakes with a turn down look just plain awesome on a '49 Ford. I'd be tempted to go with lakes over rear exit with the turn down just in front of the wheel well. How much ground clearance are you looking at?

glensexton, I was looking at this turndown one you speak of from Night Prowlers... I think this is what I am mostly leaning towards. Now looking at the car the triple will be too short. Ground clearance I am not sure 100% but it's lowered about 3" all around. 4" rear.

Any pictures with these on a shoebox would be killer glen, if you know of any...???

Thanks Glen! Yeah they look awesome, I think I'm set! Hmm... Flame throwers out the side maybe?
Charlie, the triples look killer! I need some for my wall in my shop too and my 49!

Sure would!!! Hell I even have the kit sitting in the trunk right now with the switch, coils, plugs, bungs, etc... Guess they will have to wait for rear exhaust then. Now I have to figure out what length and brand to go with.
