I'm building a 1948 Ford F1 Streetrod, with a 351W engine. Ready to hook up the cooling/heater hoses, and need help. Does anyone know if the molded bypass hose from the water neck to the water pump should be on the top port of the water pump, or the bottom? Or, does it even matter which one? I have a photo of a Ford engine (unsure if it's a 351W) showing the hose mounted on the top. However, if the heater hose from the pump were installed on the bottom there would be some serious bending required to clear the alternator. I may have added to the problem by installing a March serpintine front drive system. Thanks for any help!
