Not knowing what your going to run I'd guess an 80 amp would do good for you. The bracket probably will not work. There are places that may sell them for your application Speedway comes to mind. You may have to fabricate your own. Wire aize I'd use #10. Also to make things easy I'd use a one wire alternator.
If you go too small you'll know it quick, but if you go bigger than you need you'll never know and won't care. If there's any question about your load, go bigger, not smaller both with the alternator selection, and the wire.
1 wire / 3 wire
Personally I think it would be to your advantage to investigate the 1 wire alternator a bit further. Is 1 wire easy, YES is it good not really, so without reinventing the wheel I will offering the below article as food for thought. 80 will work fine 100 not that much more expensive, 100 will give that little extra that makes life easy.

Just finished up a 49 Chevy pickup 12 volt conversion for a customer. An 55amp alternator will do just fine unless you start hanging A/C and such. You'll have to buy or fabricate brackets, they are available on E-Bay for $75 or so bucks. You will also need a voltage dropping resistor for the fuel gauge you can get that from Jim Carter. Also will need a 12 volt coil and a ballist resistor for it.Save the fan/pulley from your generator you will have to use it on the new alternator or else change all of the other pulleys. When you remove the pulley and fan from the new alternator there will be a spacer, cut it approximatley in half and it will give you the proper spacing for the old generator pulley/fan. Napa alternator # RAY 2134011 55 amp if your gonna add stuff later go with an 80 or 100 amp alternator.
thanks for info guys, will try napa for alternator, won't be running much off it right now, just want to get it running, as of now, not running wipers, heater radio, gauges original, don't work, no gas gauge, gas tank is keg in back of box, mainly just lights for know...
bought alt. from napa, also bought 12v coil and ballast resister....
