Flush mount tail lights and third brake lights

I did a flush mount 3rd brake light on a 32 Vick. Was mounted right below rear window. It's not rocket science and you do get instructions. You cut the hole out for the light itself. They even give you a pattern to follow. Test fit the light and mount it. There is some filling work to make the light look like part of the body. Then you sand the outside lens flush with the body and then make sure you tape it off when you primer and topcoat. The when you clear the paint the lens will get a shiny coat of clear.

I'm certain I'll see the car at a show over the coming summer season. I'll ask hm. He has a great sense of humor. Stuffed a 514 BBF in a Chebby body with all sorts of touches like these lights.

Now, back to Ryan, I assume you're exploring these lights for your '40, but just to throw in personal opinion, I think it's hard to improve on those cool original '40 taillights....;)
Of course, it's your car and I'm all for doing it however you want!:)

Randy, I'm right there with you. I'm planning on running the nicer led 40 ford style lights on the fenders. But Id like to have a smoothe barely noticable third brake light. It may be ten years before that happens. :LOL:

:LOL: I'm working on that issue too. I sold my 95 F350 yesterday. The new owner is supposed to pick it up Friday. I have a deal going on another 01 Excursion and I wil put a cummins in it too. But, instead of dumping the money in the excursion right now, I'm thinking about putting it into the 72 and 40. I keep watching progress on here of others's projects, and everytime I walk by my frame standing on it's side in storage, I get anxious. :LOL: Summer will be here, I have to do something. Haha
