49 Merc Shifter Linkage
I have a 49 merc flat head 8 with an overdrive trans I'm dropping in a 47 Studebaker truck and I'm missing the shifter and linkage. I need drawings/ pictures etc and parts to put in a floor shifter. Any help heading me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

Suggest you call Hurst about their 3-speed floor shifter.
You can find the instruction sheet HERE.
You can also buy them from Summit or Jegs. Just search for Hurst 5010002 on their website.
You can also Google Hurst 5010002, and you might find a better price.
I installed one of these on a '52 Chevy back in the day. It took a bit of ingenuity, but it worked fine.Last edited by Henry Rifle; 04-02-2015 at 10:36 PM.

Welcome to CHR. You might want to call Hurst and see what they have for a 3spd w/ overdrive in the pattern you need. I'd be surprised if they can't come up with something that can be made to work.
It sounds like a neat project, and we'd love to see pictures if you have time to post some one of these days!Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.
Sorry for your loss of friend Mike McGee, Shine. Great trans men are few and far between, it seems. Sadly, Mike Frade was only 66 and had been talking about retirement for ten years that I know...
