Lokar Shifter Problem

The button on my Lokar shifter has become very slow at returning from the depressed position. I first noticed it when I couldn't get the shifter to stay in the Park position. I had to hold the shifter in place until the button finally came all the way up. It started when the weather turned colder but I don't know if that's actually the cause. Has anyone seen the problem before? Suggestions?

Sounds like grease in the top of the knob & down the shaft is cold. You might take a hair dryer or heat gun on LOW and heat the shifter rod & knob and see if it helps? If so then some light machine oil, helped to flow down where it's needed with some more easy heat might do the trick. Just a thought.

Take it apart, blow out with compressed air, a little machine oil, re assemble, adjust and your good 2 go.

On my lokar Nostalgia, had many problems just getting the presets correct, and also a sticky button. In my case the threads holding the knob didn't go down the shaft far enough to seat the knob properly. Had to tap it a little further, to allow the button to fully disengage and not stick. Most people don't seem to have problems with their shifters, but mine required a bit of customizing to dial it in(after following instructions to the letter!) Maybe it's just a Ford c-6 thing!

Mine was working just fine until a couple of weeks ago. I'll try the suggestions above. It may be the cooler weather that brought it on.
