LS motor
I have a friend running an LS motor in his 47 Ford Coupe. He is constantly having to replace the distributor in the car. The computer guy says it's just a fault with the motor. Is this true? He gets about 5000 miles and has to tear it down and replace it. He just broke down in TX and lives in FL. Cost him a bunch to get it home. Seems to me there should be a fix? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks ahead of time!

Think you may have typing error??? LS ? or LT ?
With an LT-------water pump leaking above it will kill it quickly----
Or------you could if LT, look at replacing with a modified manifold and a regular distributor-

Thanks emailed friend with info! All your help is greatly appreciated.
You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
