Silverado truck fuel pump
Today I replaced the fuel pump in my 2000 silverado.
On the advice of a local mechanic, I used my 4post lift to raise the bed, rather than to drop the tank. It worked fairly well, but it certainly wasn't the half hour job which he made it sound like it would be.
I had to make a spanner wrench for the lock nut, and the new pump had an adapter harness for one of the plugs, but otherwise no surprises and it went easy enough.
If I had it to do again, which I probably will as it is an Feebay cheapie, I would put the truck ON the lift first, to undo all the fasteners, instead of sliding around on cardboard on the ground. Also, I would make the spanner wrench instead of struggling against the lock nut with screwdivers and a hammer..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

I did not know Mike very well, we exchanged some messages from time to time but from what I understand he was a very good man. I was sad to learn about this
