Question what is your thought on flex joint in the exhaust to help with vibration?

Yes, it should help.
It could be a maintenance issue. Periodic replacement may be needed..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

What do you mean by "flex joint"? I would say put the flex in the hangers to account for expansion and be done with it.Roger

I was thinking he meant torque induced flex.
If it were causing the pipes to contact something like the frame, that certainly would cause noise.
In that case, rubber isolator hanger front and back, with flex pipe at the front would certainly fix the problem..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

Are you having a specific problem with the exhaust? A lot of front wheel drive cars use those braided stainless steel flex joints to allow for engine movement. I don't think I've ever seen one on a rear wheel drive car. I'm not sure what you would gain by it.Steve

No problems just thought it may help with little vibration in the exhaust. Just put in a new motor on the truck.

I put stainless flex joints on my 40 just behind the v band for the header about a foot. The exhaust is very tight in areas so I was hoping it would eliminate vibrating through the hangers and it will also aid in removal and installation of the exhaust.Ryan
