Copper?
I had the same issue and I was going to replace the line with Copper tube. I found the same size copper tubing while I was looking for the compression fittings to repair the old plastic tube.
Can anyone think of a reason this would be a bad idea?

Copper will break from vibration over time, 3 or 4 feet of braided steel & fittings
will cost ya much less than skin grafts......
If nuthin else at least use steel brake line

Steel or stainless steel is fine--use flex connection at block to prevent work hardening and cracking. Had sucess with this.
Ditto on the model kits! My best were lost when the Hobby Shop burned under suspicious circumstances....
How did you get hooked on cars?
