If you want to just check the vac. just hook the vac. guage up where the wiper vac hose goes below the carb. . If you want to keep the vac. guage hooked up all the time, put a "T" in that line & run the guage off the "T".Quote:

Sure it can be done MATT. All you ned is a t fitting that is the same size as the line.cut the line and insert the two straight sides into it. Then run the t leg side to your hose for the vacuum guage. That should do it for you.

MATT, you could even unhook it where it goes in to the wiper motor, install the T, and that way you'd be using the lest amount of hose for the vacuum guage and not clutter things up.

Danged, STREETS, you are probablly right. I remember some makes used that and some used direct manifold vacuum where you could stop the wipers just by hitting the accelerator.
Been exactly 40 years since I've owned a Stovebolt six so my memory is foggy. Heck, it's foggy most the time anyway.:LOL: :LOL: :LOL: :LOL:
I replaced the fuel pump with the exzact replacement from what was there and there wearn't vac lines coming from it and, they still work. are you saying mine was converted?Quote:

Yeah, we retired that old boat and got a new 1 which is at our house in savanah Ny. That old boat had a tree fall on it and we bought it with the cabin crushed in for somthing like 2 grand then we put about 1,000 into it to get it sea worthy, it's a 1973 Starcraft Chieftan Mark 4 and shows it's age. are new 1 is a 1984 Imperial VC 230 that is in very good shape. I used to have a pic of it on my other computer but, it crashed and I haven't gotten around to putting the HD in the freezer to get all the pics off of it, smacking it with a screwdriver may work 2.Quote:

But, the point is moot as you can use vacuum
from anywhere on the engine, they used the fuel
pump because it was a constant supply regardless
of intake manifold vacuum changes
Suggestion: IF you want a constant vacuum supply
where the wipers don't slow down upon acceleration,
then use a Vacuum cannister setup similiar to a
power brake booster or cruise control unit (Vacuum tight coffee can)...
Looks like that boat has been sitting there for a while. Time to retire it to the junk yard or slap a for sale sign on it.Quote:
