anyone out there have a suggestion for a finish on my garage floor?. Ipainted it but it lifted within days (never should have trusted Thompson's "garage floor pain".....all their products suck. Any one tried the Race deck tiles??....Trying to keep it as cheap as possible.....but....:rolleyes:
I would go with a black and white tile, but I'm old fashiond, you could get some garage floor paint, it comes in a kit and speackles for preaty-ness:LOL: , The kit comes with a cleaner that will take the grease and oil outta yer well any thing:LOL:

I painted mine battleship gray with the black & white paint chips you sprinkle over the just rolled paint. Got it from Menards. It's been painted for 2+ years and no chips at all yet. The trick (just like in body work) is in the preparation. I pressure washed mine 3 or 4 times. Held the wand 2-4 inches from the concrete and blasted the begebeez out of it. I had painted it with a cheap floor paint the year B4 and it was coming off bad. Hot tires would pull it up too. I kept blasting til' all the old paint was gone. I also didn't park on it for 'bout a week to let it cure. Then used a liquid floor wax on it. (A trick I learned from the local fire dept.) you would think wax would make it slippery when wet but ..... Nope. The only blemish iz' rust from the water that drips from the truck's exhaust. I make a lot of short trips and I get condensation from the pipes. I haven't found anything that will get the rust off the floor yet. Other than that I just pressure wash it from time to time. Looks Gooood.
Thanks guys........I looked at tiles and for a 2X2 foot tile..56 dollars/per.........not in my budget. Pro...did ya try tri sodium Phosphate??...worked on my rust stain.
I'm putting black & white checkered floor in my kitchen...it's going to look like a diner when I'm done...:DQuote:

And if you do that w/ the speckles like Otto said, your floor will look pretty....and that's really important in a garage... :LOL: :LOL: :LOL: :LOL:
