ok i just built a motor for my 69 camaro. i have a set of fulies on it and a rpm airgap manifold. so i have a long water pump, no bolt holes in the heads and a raised intake. where can i get a alternator bracket that will work. please if you have any info or website that might send me in the right way. please help.

i have found low mount brackets for short water pumps but not for long water pumps.

My situation is opposite, I have a short water pump and seek a low mount or any alternator mount. What is the source of your low mount?

Is a low mount going to fit your chassis? Early Fords aren't very wide. I mounted mine top left.

Henry Rifle: You read my mind. I had just come home from trying to pick up an alternator mount, but only got 2 of 3 pieces for the upper driver's side mount and my wife sent me on an errand and I saw this thread so I threw out a quick question. As you anticipated, my next question is/was will a lower mount fit in a Model-A chassis and you say probably not. Well at this moment I have none that is complete, either right or left upper, but I have permission from my wife to leave off an AC since she now realizes roadsters don't even have windows, so I only plan to use a water pump and generator as the bare essentials. I have priced some serpentine pulley setups and I can't see spending so much for just an alternator bracket, so I guess it is back to the junkyard to try to get a bracket for one of the upper mounts unless someone here knows of a source of a simple new old stock or chromed upper bracket for either side.

Henry Rifle: Thanks again, I looked at the many Alan Grove brackets and realized that since I am planning to run with a hood it will be narrow inside so I do need one of the upper-type. What is the one you show in the picture?

That's a Billet Specialties part - or a clone thereof. I didn't really want billet, but I came across it for a good price. I had to do quite a bit of grinding for it to fit my fast-burn heads.

Spectre makes some alternator mounts, and they're available in most local part stores or from Summit. Their brackets wouldn't fit my situation, though, because of the headers and the fast-burn aluminum heads on my motor.
If you want an old school look, you could use the Alan Grove driver's side top mount, Part #200L.
Then, there's always 3/16 cold rolled, 3/8" rod, a rod end or two, a saw and a welder. Worked on my big block A-bone.
