Can anyone supply the dimensions of a Ford I-beam axel? My needs are pretty crude, what dimension is the I-beam, say like 1"x 2.25"? What length? How much bend is typicaly introduced over that length? The need here is purely sculptural, and it will never need to be attached to a car.

I didn't say I don't have a vehicle as in in maybe if I buy the rear view miror one day I will be able to aford the ashtray. I couldn't be less interested in your toys, I just need the dimensions for the part. Really part of the part.
If I lived and breathed this stuff, I would know the dimension having only walked by the thing once. If nobody here is for real, maybe you could post that and save us all the trouble.

Don't get upset, but your question is a little ambiguous. There a lot of different Ford I-beams with all kinds of measurements and arches. It all depends on what year of car (or truck) your looking for.:confused: :confused: :HMMM:
How about circa '32. They were easy enough to find on the internet, but dimensions weren't listed in the places I saw.
Darn it, Rodknee, I thougth I'd be able to help you, but my old magazines compare the different axles in pictures and general discription but don't give the demensions.

Same for me. I can scale them off the pictures I have, but I figure I ought to be able to find it by a more direct means than that. I may have to folow the if it looks good it is good philosophy, but then some nimrod will come along and say "you would think at least he could get "THAT" right".
Jeez, ask a totally ambiguous question, ask folks to do the research for you, then get pissy about it. You probably don't realize (at post #3 or 4) how many fourteen-year-olds come here and ask a question like "Hey, I want to put a hemi in a Ford Escort. Could you please look up all the parts numbers, tell me how to do it, and give me the estimated cost?
