Another Falcon question
Me and my dad got the master all in and plumbed, started bleeding out the front brakes and we heard a pop, knew somthing blew and on inspection it appeared that a bleeder in the driver side rear had compleatly blown out somehow now, we have to put in a new wheel cyl, bought the wheel cylender, got the tire off and tried to get the drum off and nither my father nor I can figure on how to get it off, we normally know how to get the drums off but this 1 seems to be set up a little diffrent, anyone got any ideas or possibly refrence sites?

Asbestos in Breaks
Matt,
Watch out breathing the dust inside those old drums. The old cars had asbestos in the brake linings. I would wear a respirator while taking it apart. When the drum is off, spray off the brake dust with a little spray of water. Then sweep, bag, (plastic with tie) and dispose of the dust. No sense burning out your lungs like most of us old timers have already done.

Thanks for that safty tip, makes sense. We got an old meat packing plant here that closed in the 60's that has been taking them about 5 years to tear down and it still isn't 1/2 down because of the buildings asbestos content and the special disposal of the materials which have to be shipped out.

Asbestos
Matt,
The key to dealing with asbestos is water. When it's wet it won't float around in the air. Sweep it up while wet and seal it in a plastic bag and you will live a long life.
I am 52 and have been messing with cars since as far back as I remember. I used to hang with my dad and my Uncle Leonard while they fixed cars. Back then nobody thought about what they were breathing. A lot of old rodders aren't around today because of that.
