Yup, basically. Actually, you will be raising the front of the frame which will lower the ride height of the truck. You will need to fasten the frame securely, with the engine, trans, front end sheet metal, and front suspension all removed before you cut anything. Awww, heck, just buy me a ticket and I'll come help ya.!!!!
PS---Maybe if I get "retired" this summer, I could just hire out as a consultant for old fashioned hot rod projects !!:whacked: :LOL: Anybody in the Southwest need any help next winter???:LOL: :LOL:

Dave, here's an update with the Zing of the frame. It can't be done I found out. I talked to the people at slick 60s and they said there was a guy that tried this on the same kind of truck and it didn't work out. The oil pan hit, the tranny wouldn't fit, the I beams wouldn't line up right, etc. He couldn't raise the engine, etc because of fitting and leveling problems, the wheel wells wouldn't work right, etc. I think I will just have to lower it a tiny 3 inches and wait until I can afford a dakota front end to put on.

I guess I don't understand why it would not work with a rear sump pan and pickup on the engine. But hey, you would be better off with updating the suspension, too.
