Airbags and the drag strip

Whats your take on the subject?Not talking Pro-Mod or Top fuel,just mild strip.400 horses with a 150 shot of nitrous.

They will work. Probably not as good as a 4 link setup, coil over suspension, etc but will work. Strong Arms from Air Ride Tech I hear are good for this kind of thing. Call them up and see what you can find out.

All the bags do is support the weight at the rear of the car, and to some extent control the amount and rate of weight transfer. As long as you have a good set of either ladder bars or a 4 link to control the hook they should work ok. Why air bags??? Sounds like you could be trying to get one car to be too many different things????

I hope not,just trying to see how much I can get.Do you think it will work with a set-up in a 65 chevy truck (like the nascar set-up)

Like Dave said, the bags are just there to support the truck. You could use leafs, coils, coilovers, torsionbars, whatever and see little or no difference. The difference will be in the geometry of the lever/levers used to transform torque into forward motion. The Chevy truck arrangement is basically a long ladder bar setup and should work well.

Segregate the fill lines to each bag so that you can adjust pressure from side to side and preload the right rear a little.

Sounds like that should work out pretty good.It gives me more adjustment on tires and weight on each tire.
