body bushings for 70 nova
Im new at this forum stuff so please bear with me, I recently pulled the sub frame off my 70 Nova for powder coating and susoension rebuild. I re instlled and aligned it and installed new body bushings. After hanging the front fenders I noticed the front fender trim was not horizontal. I removed the radiator sddel bushings and the problem was better and finally I shimmed the cowl bushings almost an inch to get the eyebrows to line up horizontally. Any ideas as to what may be wrong/corrective actions? Thanks!!!

Sounds like maybe something isn't right with the body bushings..... Can you get us a picture of where they mount??Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

As Dave said somthing with the bushings. My guess that the openings in the sub frame are closed up enough that the bushings can't go in and seat on the frame. You may have to drop the frame down and open the holes the bushings go in. Powder coating does close up openings so maybe thats your problem???Charlie

You may have mixed the rearmost bushings up with the ones that belong at the cowl,i just did a 69 camaro and had a similar problem. Hank

1970 nova body bushings
Thanks guys. Will check to see if the right bushings are installed.
Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
