Front Steer Power Rack & Pinion
I hope this falls under the "Suspension" forum.
Does anyone know what kind a power Rack & Pinions are front steer other than the usual Mustang and T'Bird ones? Maybe some foreign car? I have limited room in my project and would like to try some other alternatives that might be a bit smaller that the Mustang/T'Bird R&P. I'm a fair fabricator, so I can likely make anything fit.

The hiedts superride for a 32' use to use a Dodge Omni for a front rack and pinion, not sure if it was available in power though, as there's was manual, I have to say on a early Ford there was no need for power, it steered easily on my 32.Why is mine so big and yours so small, Chrysler FirePower

I'm pretty sure Omni is rear steer. I've seen them on early Mustangs (64-66).

Stuman, You are correct, the superide II is in front and original is in back, I have installed several IFS units and until I saw the pic it hadn't dawned on me it was in back on the original superide! Why dont you call them and ask where the Superide II rack is from, they where very forth coming with info on parts when Gary Heidt owned it, maybe they still are?Why is mine so big and yours so small, Chrysler FirePower

I have the JAG IFS in my 48 Ford F1. No problems with the steering linkage. I have pictures if you want them.

You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
