78 bronco lift
Picked up a 78 Bronco from west TX, really good truck with zero rust. Has a 400 2bbl, but will need a rebuild.
Question is on a lift kit, can a use 3/4 ton or one ton front coil spring instead of buying a "lift kit" I know I will need longer shocks, but is a lift kit for that model simply 3/4 ton or one ton springs on the front? The 1/2 ton measures roughly 12", the 3/4 ton roughly 14" and the one ton is 16". I think my cousin added 3/4 ton spring to his 1/2 ton truck with a 460 and it sat a little higher in the front.
Not going wild with this, i want to fix it all back streetable with the stock 400 motor, 33" tires and 2 to 4" of lift.

Not to try to send you off, but a good source of info for lifting trucks is at www.truckaddicts.com. Hope this helps, as you'll find more specific info for the lift kit.
You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
