42-48 Spindle brake options.....
I'm building a 29' foor door rat/taditional/old school...what ever you want to call it hotrod and would really like to run some disc brakes up front from a safety point of view. I'll have a BBC and want to make sure this baby will stop in a reasonable distance.
I see there are $500 plus kits out there...but is there any DO IT YOURSELF-FIND PARTS YOURSELF guidlines anyone knows???? Any common late-model vehicle parts that can be retrofitted?? Adpaters???
Thanks!
Tom

By the time you find a brake setup similar enough to work, then modify it, build the brackets needed, and then buy new components, you will probably be very close to the price of one of the kits. Plus, they are engineered to fit, are all new, and simply bolt on.
I like to save money where possible too, but in this case I think the $ 500 will be well spent.

Yeh I got a kit that was fairly in expensive from speedway. I think it was around 300 bucks for both sides and verry easy to install.
