am fitting a 37 pickup body onto a 59 GMC pickup chassis the one with the dual headlights. The fit is ok except the 59 GMC is about 4 inches too long sooooo i want to shorten the front leaf springs and move the front shackle assembly bac 4 inches and cut off the un needed chasis so the fenders can fit properly. the wheels are in the centre of the fender wheel arch before this mod. What do you think is it do able or should i just let that ugly spring and chassis stick through the fender.....

also that GMCn was sprung so hard that if you bounced 150-200 pound wieght on the front or back of the chassis only the tires would have any give so i removed 2 leaves from front and back. this did 2 things for me first it made the suspension softer at least now when a 200lb man jumps up and down you can see the shackles move. then it also lowered the whole thing slightly nwhich looks pretty cool..... is this ok or am i making a death trap
