steering

I,m new to hot rods; just sold my drag boat after racing for 24 years and bought a 34 ford with a straight axle. The steering isn't much to be desired. Is there a way to add power steering to this or rack and pinion to a straight axle, without creating problems for myself?
Any input or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike

Welcome to CHR. Like Dave says, before we can discuss options and modifications we need to know what you've got for your front end geometry, and what your complaint is with the setup you have. Pictures may be a big bonus, depending on your problem.

I will get some pic's to allow you guys to see what I have, so you can advise on what I can or can't do.. I have been reading some posts here and there and it sounds like rack and pinion isn't a good idea, with a straght axle.. But im a novice and have no idea at ths point..

You're correct Mike, to make conventional R&P work on a straight axle, you have to attach the rack to the axle. A clean alternative is the one I posted above from Unisteer.
