Th350-c
How much different is a lock-up 350 from the older turbo 350? I am considering using one in my truck. My current transmission is almost dead and most certainly will not survive long with a new new engine turning its input shaft with well over 420 ft lbs of torque. I don't really want overdrive because I have 3.07 gears in my truck and the overdrive will put me at something slow like 1800 rpm on the highway, making the truck kind of sluggish. That and nobody seems interested in the 350c's which makes rebuildable cores much cheaper than a th700.

That's you call Buddy. I my self would go with the 700R4 befed up. 1800 r's on the freeway would make for nice gas milage. All you, your the one who has to pay for it.

Maybe if I just fix the transmission I have now. I'm running 3200 rpm on the highway but according to my calculations should be doing only 2500 (stock stall). I don't think the transmission itself is the problem, it isn't cooking the fluid and I run it like that for 90+ miles at a time in the hottest of weather. I think it's the torque converter. Maybe it lost some blades from the turbine.
