where can i find a good kit that wont break the bank?
Napa has the kits. the last one I bought, I just got the towing kit, and it was on sale for like 45.00. its not a all out shift kit, which you don't need.Quote:

That 5 speed should be a Borg-Warner T-56 tranny and will hold up to "sensible" driving, after all your not going to be able to really hook it up anyway without a lot of chi-ching. If your worried about it you can change out the input shaft for the larger one at a low cost(they make one just for that conversion) and it will bolt up with a tranny plate-also available in the conversion listings.
hey man, can you give me more information about those kits and do i have to change the bell housing on the tranny to match up with the engine, i know that if it was a 4.3 i wouldnt have to change anything, but i got the 2.2 so i dont know, a website to the kits would be nice
I'm thinking Speedway has one, Summit, and Air Ride Tech. also.
Engine plates aren't hard to make- almost every modified racer out there uses one....your local speed shop should be able to help you get one.
You could also try Borg-Warner. I make my own so as for web sites I may not be much help. I use Summit for the extension parts (Pinion bearing). I think they have plates too.- Where are you located- if you can't find a kit I'll put you one togather.
im in nashville tenn, ive never done a conversion before so i dont really know what im asking for,but anyway it would be a big help if you could make one, also if you know anybody who wants a 94 camaro z28 body that im taking the engine out of let me know, its not wrecked or anything, i just want to do the swap for kicks
im condisidering buying a manual from stealth for my conversion, are they a good name or does anyone have any suggestions on what type of manual to buy, a link would be great
this is the site i meant to give you the other day other day foofer1986 i dont know how that address got in there. may be something here to help you.

ok ive decided to try out that t5 5 speed instead of the auto, no offense to you guys that suggested the auto, i just cant part with that cluth, but anyway if anybody knows where i can purchase an adapter plate so that my t5 will bolt up to that small block that would be extremely helpful
